1. Grant of Licence

Subject to payment and these terms, Billman grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable (except as described in §3) licence to install and use the Billman desktop software for your own business.

2. One Licence, One Server Computer

Each desktop licence authorises one computer to run the Billman server. At activation the licence is bound to that computer's hardware identity — a fingerprint computed from stable hardware identifiers, stored only as one-way hashes. Normal hardware changes (a BIOS update or a single component swap) do not break the binding; reinstalling Billman or Windows on the same computer re-activates automatically without using up anything.

3. Moving to a New Computer

The account owner may transfer the licence to a different computer at any time from inside the app (or with the licence key plus an email confirmation code). Transferring:

Revokes the previous computer — it is signed out and permanently stops syncing with Billman Cloud.
Leaves the previous computer's local data in place, but that data can no longer be recovered, updated or restored through cloud sync.
Binds the licence to the new computer's hardware identity.

If you believe your licence was transferred without your consent, contact support immediately — every transfer is logged and confirmed against the account owner's verified email.

4. Client Devices

Your plan defines how many LAN client devices (additional counters, tablets, phones on your network) may connect to your licensed server, and how many devices may participate in cloud sync. Additional seats can be purchased. Client devices cannot operate against an unlicensed or expired server.

5. Validity, Renewal and Grace

Licences run for the purchased period from activation. A 14-day grace period follows expiry; after that the software becomes read-only and cloud sync stops until renewal. Local data is never deleted by licensing enforcement.

6. Updates

Plans that include updates receive new versions during the licence period. Plans without updates keep the installed version working but do not receive new versions.

7. Prohibited

Sharing one licence across multiple server computers simultaneously
Tampering with licence enforcement, the hardware fingerprint or seat limits
Renting, reselling or sublicensing the software

8. Termination

We may terminate a licence for material breach. You may stop using the software at any time; §5 of the Refund Policy governs refunds.
